Guest badboy4life Posted March 12, 2004 Report Posted March 12, 2004 I haven't used any Photoshop much, and i've tried looking in the help file but don't seem to understand it. 1. How can i adjust the brightness of a single layer? 2. How can i rotate a text layer? I'm getting used to it slowly, so a step-by-step answer would be much appreciated. Thanks
Guest Palindrome Posted March 12, 2004 Report Posted March 12, 2004 1. Click on the layer you wish to apply to in the layers view and select IMAGE -> ADJUSTMENTS -> BRIGHTNESS/CONTRAST 2. Click on the text layer you wish to apply to in the layers view and select EDIT -> TRANSFORM -> ROTATE Hope that helps.
Guest supermarv Posted March 12, 2004 Report Posted March 12, 2004 This is based on Photoshop 7 but I think it should be the same for other versions... For no. 1: a. Have the layer you want to adjust selected in the Layers palette (if you don't see this choose: Window > Layers) b. To edit the Brightness choose: Image > Adjustments > Brightness/Contrast. For no. 2: a. Have your text layer selected in the Layers palette. b. Select the Move tool from the Tools palette (the shortcut to select this is V) c. Choose: Edit > Transform > Rotate d. A bounding box appears where you can rotate the text manually by left-click holding whilst moving outside the box. Double-click inside the box or press Enter when you are happy to make the changes. Alternatively pressing Escape cancels any changes. The shortcut to get the bounding box is CTRL+T. HTH
Guest zeta101 Posted March 12, 2004 Report Posted March 12, 2004 looking in the help files will only help so much, youll probably find you will get better at it with practice, just play around with tools and see what they do...do some tutorials from the net for different things for more practice too
