Guest supermarv Posted March 12, 2004 Report Posted March 12, 2004 I love my Intellimouse but over time the wheel has started to run less freely and needs a clean. Ideally I'd like to take it apart to give it a full clean but I don't want to break the thing! Anyone know if it's possible/how to safely dismantle one so I can get at the wheel then put it back together again? Cheers.
Guest Gorskar Posted March 13, 2004 Report Posted March 13, 2004 Erm... dunno if theres a screw under the sticker on the bottom? ... Feels like there could be when i press on it. I got a similar mouse (optical intellimouse) so I imagine it would be the same.
Guest siu99spj Posted March 19, 2004 Report Posted March 19, 2004 There are screws under the pads and it does come apart, but it will creak like hell as you pull it apart. Or at least the early versions did (My days of tinkering are dwindling as things get more expensive. Shame really). I had the joy of ripping apart two defunct Intellimouse Explorer Pro's apart to make one functioning on. Works great except the red LED is permanently on at full brightness now... :?
