Guest jamesg Posted March 12, 2004 Report Posted March 12, 2004 Hello again, I decided to get an E200 to replace my damaged MPx200 (see this thread). I phoned Orange Care (my phone is insured) and arranged for them to deliver a replacement. They said that the phone would arrive between 9am and 1pm today (thats Friday 12th). I waited in, but no phone arrived. I called Orange Care again at 4pm and explained the situation. The Orange representative said that - probably due to human error - they had tried to deliver the replacement phone to house number 99 (I'm 93). He apologised for the mistake and told me that the situation would be rectified and that he would call me back. I informed him that I would be out of the house for a few hours and asked if I could contact him. He gave me the following contact information: Name: Martin Extension: 52148 I called Orange Care again, at 6pm, and asked to be put through to the extension '52148'. They told me that that extension "didn't mean anything without a 1-letter prefix". The reperesentative asked me to explain the situation, I told her the above. She then gave me the following telephone number: 07973100154 ... saying I'd have better luck talking to them. That number doesn't exist. I then called Orange Care for a third time, and explained the situation as far. The reperesentative told me that due to stock rotation they can no-longer offer me an E200. They are now offering Nokia 7.... (somethings). I explained to her that there was already an E200 reserved for me, which must be back at the warehouse by now, and that I wanted that phone. She told me that there was nothing she could do and that I would have to accept the Nokia. I asked if I could talk to a manager; and am now waiting for a call back. So, discuss...
Guest morpheus2702 Posted March 12, 2004 Report Posted March 12, 2004 This is quite familar to me - my 2nd original SPV packed up last summer so Orange Care OK'd me an E100 as a replacement. To cut a long story short, there were a lot of missed delivery times, an attempt to fob me off with a SPV and a lot of gnashing of teeth, Be prepared to have to wait, note the name, number and what time you speak to every single person at OCS. Stick to your guns, make a pain of yourself and don't accept 'put it in writing'. And at the end of the day, tell them that a Nokia is NO substitute for a E200!!!
Guest jamesg Posted March 12, 2004 Report Posted March 12, 2004 A Conclusion! I eventually got hold of Martin (His full-name is Martin Stoddart) who explained and sorted everything out. As soon as I receive my new phone tomorrow (a Treo 600) I'll be writing a letter to Orange; hopefully he'll get some Brownie points. edit: Cheers for your help morpheus. You're absolutely right... just don't take 'no' for an answer.
Guest jamesg Posted March 16, 2004 Report Posted March 16, 2004 I thought I'd tack this on to my last thread (rather than creating a new one)... I've had my Treo 600 for about 4 days now, and I absolutely love it (probably because my expectations were lower than they were for my MPx200). But I miss MoDaCo. I wasn't a frequent poster, but I read the MoDaCo forums constantly. There is a soluction - or at least a discussion - on every issue I could think of. And I just can't find a MoDeCo alternetive (for the Treo platform). The best I've found is treo Central. Which has a fairly active forum and an un-zealot approach. But It's no MoDaCo!
Guest mcwarre Posted March 16, 2004 Report Posted March 16, 2004 But It's no MoDeCo! Or MoDaCo
