Guest rrrr5454 Posted March 13, 2004 Report Posted March 13, 2004 Please Help. I bought this phone because I currently use MSN 9 software/MSN e-mail/calendar/contacts/notes. I figured that Microsoft products were all intercompatible. I have tried to set-up the Pocket Mail on the phone using the MSN instrux: pop3.email.msn.com smtp.email.msn.com I put my username without the @msn.com and then my password. I'm pretty sure that I've done everything correctly. The error message I get when I try downloading e-mails is - 'An error occurred while downloading messages. Verify that you have network coverage and that your account information is correct and then try again.' I called MSN and was told they don't have support for this. AT&T is useless and Motorla doesn't have a clue. It's unbelievable that you buy Microsoft products for their compatibility and then to find out they're not. Second, I'd like to know how to set-up the SYNC feature so that I can sync my calendar/contacts/notes/tasks with the MSN server. THe only web address that MSN was able to give me was: http://oe.msn.msnmail.hotmail.com/cgi-bin/hmdata Maybe it's some settings on my phone, like AWS GPRS/ or Internet, etc. Or maybe it's just that it just isn't able to sync. What an awesome phone. Really like it. However, AT&T really has to go. Can't wait for Cingular. Thanks, Roy
Guest nickcornaglia Posted March 13, 2004 Report Posted March 13, 2004 Sorry to say the phone does not sync with MSN out of the box. If you subscribe to ModacoPlus, there is a service that allows you to sync with your hotmail account. (Inbox only...not PIM apps). As far as the PIM applications, the phone syncs with Outlook. I'm not familiar with MSN....if it is able to sync with Outlook then you can sync MSN with Outlook and Outlook with the phone.
