Guest MoRFLeZ Posted March 13, 2004 Report Posted March 13, 2004 SmartPhoneTurbo (only for XScale powered MS Smartphones) You want to get more power out of your SmartPhone? With NOVOSEC's SmartPhoneTurbo you can speed up your SmartPhone up to 30%. Tested on Mitac MIO 8380 and 8390. This program CANNOT damage your device since the processor is designed to run with higher clock rates. NOTE: This program will not run on TI-OMAP powered SmartPhones like Motorola MPx200, SPV or QTEK. Theoretically it's possible to do the same tweaks but Texas Instruments refuses to publish the processor specification. We would need to buy 1000 or more processors to get the documentation we need. If you want the application for your TI-OMAP powered device too please ask Texas Instruments and not us. How it works: - change multiplier in CCCR register for turbo mode to get 300MHz - set CCLKCFG register to switch to turbo mode >>Official Homepage Comment: Too bad it doesn't work on SPV *sob*SmartPhoneTurbo.arm.CAB
Guest Lopio Posted March 13, 2004 Report Posted March 13, 2004 >>Official Homepage<< Comment: Too bad it doesn't work on SPV *sob* Sad to hear that it wont run on spv

Guest rexyoung0613 Posted March 13, 2004 Report Posted March 13, 2004 Are you sure it won't damage the device???? I'm conservative!!!!!!
Guest Mr_Protozoa Posted March 13, 2004 Report Posted March 13, 2004 it shouldn't damage it. the processor is designed to run that fast - but has been underclocked for use in the phone.

Guest stohn Posted March 13, 2004 Report Posted March 13, 2004 Hello, @dragonpigz: Can you tell me your ROM-Version and the "unlocking" state of your device? So I can try to find a fix. The program will work on your device too but it seems that it doesn't pass the device check on your phone... Sorry. Maik

Guest zeta101 Posted March 13, 2004 Report Posted March 13, 2004 it wont work on motorola mpx200 or spv range, so no point trying, the mitacs have different processors...ashame...i wonder if there is someway we can get texas instruments to tell us the info we need for someone to make the same program for spvs and mpx....maybe a petition or something :)

Guest Zim Posted March 14, 2004 Report Posted March 14, 2004 really how he get it to work?> really wanna try it and see what happens? "Z"
Guest FuNKySoULyBrO Posted March 15, 2004 Report Posted March 15, 2004 I can't even download the app. The link is down, gave me the HTTP 404 error.
Guest FuNKySoULyBrO Posted March 15, 2004 Report Posted March 15, 2004 Managed to get it running on my mio 8380. The speed of navigating the menu interface seems like the same, but video playback in pocketmvp is noticeably smoother though.
Guest MoRFLeZ Posted March 15, 2004 Report Posted March 15, 2004 The guy who got it working on the Danish forum has: - a Mitac 8380 - software version: 1.0.55.12191
