on the E200 you have several different ambience options for the video camera. Can anyone tell me what each is designed for / does???

The options are as follows:

1, Auto

2. Daylight

3. Incandescent

4. Fluorescent

5. Dim

6. Effects

Obviously I guess here that daylight cuts out glare etc, and dim is for dim lighting!

They are the equivalent of the White Balance settings U would find on a digitital camera... basically each different light source has a colour or warmth so each of these settings is designed to allow the camera to give a truer representation of colours under specific ligting condiotions... for instance say U intend to take a pic or video in a room with flourescent strip lighting... if U use the daylight setting then the picture would have a definite blue hue to it but if U set the ambience setting to flourescent it should adjust for this and the pic should give look as the scene does

Hope this helps :)
