Guest nerxd12 Posted March 14, 2004 Report Posted March 14, 2004 Okay when i save a sound file on my phone it allows me to change the ringtone alerts to the sound clips i have just added, but when i go to sms alerts or alarm clock alerts the downloaded sound clips are not available to choose it only gives me the list of preset tones CAN ANYONE HELP ME
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted March 14, 2004 Report Posted March 14, 2004 Welcome to the site :) Ringtones etc need to be placed in IPSMApplication DataSounds or you can place then on your Storage card in My Documents but alarm tones should be kept on the phone because the phone can stop talking to the card if the battery level becomes too low.
Guest nerxd12 Posted March 14, 2004 Report Posted March 14, 2004 Am saving the sounds on the phone and there still not available on my sms alerts or alarm alerts, there only available for ringtone alerts...... its starting to come really frustrating. Do you have anymore advice?
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted March 14, 2004 Report Posted March 14, 2004 If they are saved in as listed above they should be there as they are all using the same location.
Guest nerxd12 Posted March 14, 2004 Report Posted March 14, 2004 I've installed the software CD again and the sound clips i download are only available to use as ringtones and nothing else(sms alerts and alarm alerts etc)... :x Does anyone have any other suggestion, so i can sort my problem out. Cheers
Guest martin Posted March 14, 2004 Report Posted March 14, 2004 I once had a problem where it couldn't see the ringtones that I had just saved to the phone but it picked them up when I did a reboot. Slightly different from your problem though. I didn't see the ringtones as an option anywhere. Posted from my SmartPhone!
Guest nerxd12 Posted March 14, 2004 Report Posted March 14, 2004 If reboot worked for you its worth a bash, can you tell me how to reboot.
Guest Disco Stu Posted March 14, 2004 Report Posted March 14, 2004 By reboot he just means switch off & on, aka soft reset. I seem to remember that downloads are installed somewhere odd but as awarner says you should use ActiveSync or Smart Explorer to cut & paste them into the Sounds folder. Then they're available for anything. Posted from my SmartPhone!
