E200, Orange unlock and rom upgrades question

hi i wondered if anyone had any comments on the following situation, I plan to buy an E200 and then have it unlocked by orange when I move to the US. How do I actually get it unlocked by orange? What happens with future Rom upgrades? Can I apply orange upgrades and will this lock my phone again meaning i have to decert and unlock again or can I apply a generic eg imate rom upgrade? Will orange give me an unlock code in the US? And is there any way to remove the orange software from the phone eg startup screen to show generic smartphone screen. thanks in advance

Once orange give you the SIM unlock code write it down and keep it safe, after that if the phone relock's it's self you have to code to unlock it again (never heard of a phone relocking it self), as for updates you will beable to download them from the web so yes you can apply the update, now for decert not sure on that got mine done OTA but as we have had no newer rom version I can't say if it will re app lock the phone, as for the rest not sure do a seach on here someone much have done that or at least tried.

thanks, but I still wonder if it is possible to remove orange specific stuff from the phone, if im with a us carrier dont want orange startup screens, wap pages etc

There are ways to change the startup, shutdown screens as well as the operator logo on top of the in-call screens.

as far as the orange programs. you can not delete them as they are in ROM. You can delete the shortcuts in Programs but they will return after a hard reset.
