Guest mattscholey Posted March 14, 2004 Report Posted March 14, 2004 Hi, I have Orange Care. I was wondering as the E100 is no longer available, are Orange so out of stock, that if my E100 is lost/stolen/damaged, will they have an E100 to replace it with, or will they have to give me something newer like the E200, 6600, P900, etc. Thanks, Matt
Guest squall Posted March 14, 2004 Report Posted March 14, 2004 not heard anyone saying they have had an e100 replaced with an e200 yet. I know the mpx200 is out of stock, and that is being replaced by an e200...
Guest bikespod Posted March 14, 2004 Report Posted March 14, 2004 they were offering e1's as a DMR for e2's up until a few weeks ago so it seems unlikely. Posted from my SmartPhone!
Guest Gibbo Posted March 15, 2004 Report Posted March 15, 2004 I'm having my original SPV replaced today (well, tomorrow morning). It will be interesting to see if I get an SPV, E100, or something else. Paul.
Guest Taoski Posted March 15, 2004 Report Posted March 15, 2004 I have my original SPV replaced twice recently - as the first one was faulty. They just gave me back an original SPV again. Even though attempted to sweet talk the lady for something nicer. They must have mountains of old stockm ready and waiting...
Guest squall Posted March 15, 2004 Report Posted March 15, 2004 they would send you a refurbished one if they have one available. doesnt mean they have hundereds - you may just be unlucky. :)

Guest Gibbo Posted March 16, 2004 Report Posted March 16, 2004 i had my original spv replaced with the same thing on sunday. its probably my fifth replacement and everytime i have had a brand new spv back. i reckon they have a mountain of them! Same thing happened, I now have a new original SPV. At least the power button seems to work better on this one.
Guest amo Posted March 18, 2004 Report Posted March 18, 2004 There are stocks of SPV's and SPV E100's for use as Care replacements just in case anyone is trying something!
Guest squall Posted March 18, 2004 Report Posted March 18, 2004 cant be to many spv's? good to see your back amo
Guest mark4130 Posted March 21, 2004 Report Posted March 21, 2004 Had my E100 replaced with another new E100 on Tuesday. The replacement one has slighlty different menu listing - the "information" option has been replaced by "Orange Plus" and this now has Call Orange, Information and Group Text beneath it...!? There appears to be a few other differences as well.. the button depression feels slightly firmer and more responsive rather than the empty click my first E100 had. The main difference (AND the most pleasing one)is that in 3 days I only had to charge once.. I had been making calls, downloading email and playing soitaire. It really is outperforming my old E100 battery wise. Its now usable as a phone away from as power supply! Mark
Guest Jasonkruys Posted March 21, 2004 Report Posted March 21, 2004 What rom versions etc... have you got?
Guest mattat Posted March 21, 2004 Report Posted March 21, 2004 The Orange Plus is actually a result of the new Sim Card, and is available on all/most phones with these new sim cards - hence things like group text which is already available on the E100
Guest Jasonkruys Posted March 21, 2004 Report Posted March 21, 2004 I thought so, still interested in the improved battery life tho, interesting to see if he has different rom versions
Guest mark4130 Posted March 21, 2004 Report Posted March 21, 2004 New SPV E100: Version 3 Radio 2.01.00 ARM OMAP 710 ROM Operator 1.6.1.10 Manufacturer 1.6.1.10 Language 1.6.1.10 File System 3.0.13258.0 This is (if I remember correctly) exactly the same as my old one.. Got it Tuesday PM, charged it for a couple of hours. Fully charged it Wednesday morning and didnt need to charge it again until Friday afternoon. Its now down to 2 bars again and needs charging but its been on each day from 7AM through to at least 10PM. I havent hit it hard with MP3 playing etc but I have downloaded emails, sync plenty of times without plugging into power supplies and made a good few calls. Its definitely better. Mark
