Guest steverae Posted March 15, 2004 Report Posted March 15, 2004 I've had my spv e200 for several days now and have attempted to unlock it with both the orange unlock OTA method and the application method. Both appear to work fine and report that "Your handset has had its certificate security disabled" but after a while it seems to come back on. My questions are these :- After de-certing your phone do you have to do anything like a hard reset ? Should you have to do this more than once? Is their a limit to the number of times you can do this ? Thank you in advance for your help.
Guest Disco Stu Posted March 15, 2004 Report Posted March 15, 2004 No, you don't want to be doing a hard reset after app. unlocking as this will re-lock the phone. The phone has been known to lock itself at some random time, possibly as a result of low battery (?) or possibly by Orange (?) or some software glitch or whatever. It's nothing to worry about despite being annoying. You can simply unlock it again and there is no limit on the number of times.
Guest steverae Posted March 15, 2004 Report Posted March 15, 2004 Thank you again Disco Stu, you seem to know alot about this kinda thing... Greatly appreciate your responses.
Guest Disco Stu Posted March 15, 2004 Report Posted March 15, 2004 No problem :) Although I've not had any problems with the E200, I had to app.unlock my old SPV on countless occasions : sometimes after a crash / hard reset and sometimes just because it decided to re-lock itself. Just one of those Windows things you get used to IMHO
