Hi,

they sell the OLD generic Motorola ROM. It only enables the AT&T disabled band selection. You can do this with a registry tweak too.

BUT since the transceiver is not able to work on 850 MHz no software on the world can do the trick.

It's just you like to use your MPx200 to talk to satellites... with a software change.

They should not be selling the ability to do this as it was

leakedstolen from moto. Also theere are some sites still hosting

it for free.

(please do not ask for links as we have a no warez policy on the site)

Is this the same firmware that was posted on mpx200.org a few months ago? If so, then the firmware does not restore the 900 band! It just makes it visible! According to this site, they claim that their firmware enables the 900 band! Has anybody tried this?

There seems to be a mixed responce some people do calim it works

and have done in this secion of the site. Others claim it does not.

Could be related to the location of the user art the time and wether the band is actually accessable there.

All mpx 200 users are screwed as far as the 850 band goes. The mpx 200 simply does not support it, and since AT&T and Cingular(who just bought AT&T) plan to start heavily using the 850 band to add better building and indoor reception, mpx 200 users probably should upgrade to either the mpx 100 or mpx 220 when they come out. They will both be tri-band. I know I will upgrade to either one of the phones, whichever comes out first
