Smartphone 2003 upgrade?

This has probably been asked a million times and as usual with moto/microsoft, no-one's been given a proper answer :)

Does anyone know if there is going to be an update for the mpx200 to utilise the Smartphone 2003 OS? It's looking less likely what with the 'subtle disappearance' of the phone from the shops lol.

Reason i'm asking is that for my final year university project I was aiming to develop a Smartphone application (quite what yet is the next step!), but since it's of interest to me it's a good start. Unfortunately my mpx runs on SP2002, which, from what I can ascertain, only allows Visual C++ dev... which is annoying since I was planning to use a .Net framework, vb.net or c# :-/

I suppose there's always the option of using a SP emulator for development, but it wouldn't have quite the same effect for me! :-(

It's unlikely there will be an update in the UK.

Ah... just found this thread > http://www.modaco.com/viewtopic.php?t=104803 which i missed first time through lol. Sorry for posting this question again, I really should've opened my eyes a little bit more on the 2nd page... it's just one of those days at work :)

Why do Malaysia get special treatment? ;-( I just wish moto would actually pull their finger out of their backsides and commit to a statement one way or another. I don't like the way they seem to be pushing the mpx200 under the carpet... but then they wouldn't tell the public that it was just a stop-gap before they actually manage to 'finish' the phone aka the mpx220 lol.
