Alcatel Arima Asustek Computer ("Asus") AudioVox CMC Magnetics Corp. The leading chipset manufacturers are also invited: Chip Set Makers Anadigics Analog Devices Intel Motorola National Semiconductor Texas Instruments Many of the companys on the list are known to have released, or be working toward releasing Smartphones - this conference could have a big impact on future Smartphone releases
Guest lutzh Posted March 17, 2004 Report Posted March 17, 2004 sounds good. but: specs are saying, my e200 lasts up to 100 hrs, in reality i can go for 24 hours. so does 300 hrs mean i'll get 72 hrs in reality. or if htc is involved i'll go 18 hours with promised 300... cheers, lutz
Guest squall Posted March 17, 2004 Report Posted March 17, 2004 as long as future handsets show some improvement does it really matter ?
Guest phonesmarts Posted March 18, 2004 Report Posted March 18, 2004 300+ hours...sounds great, but would talk time be affected as well? i mean, with 300 hr. standby, wouldn't the talk time increase to say...10 hours? 8) but im glad the MS wants to get all the phone companies involved to make smartphones...(another step to world domination by Billy) * Glad N****'s not invited
Guest squall Posted March 18, 2004 Report Posted March 18, 2004 i think the point of the conference is to look at ways of increasing battery life and efficiency - prob not to meet the 300 hours stand by!
Guest ferryrich Posted March 18, 2004 Report Posted March 18, 2004 100 hours standby is exactly what it say. 100 hours of the phone being turned on and not in use. Even if you not making calls, simply using the phone uses much more power than leaving it idle. My original SPV lasts about 4 days without any use at all. Just checking for missed calls/seeing the time etc it'll last half that. If I'm using it much more than that, it goes much faster. With 300 hours of standby you could probably expect 3 days of normal use of your phone, without involving telephony.
Guest Rob.P Posted March 18, 2004 Report Posted March 18, 2004 ^ for that to be even close for the E200 you have leave the SD Card out
