Guest poofy Posted March 17, 2004 Report Posted March 17, 2004 any movie buffs here? seen any movie lately? highly recommended: THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST just saw the movie, i had to watch a comedy afterwards to balance my emotions. grabe, as in, brutal and bloody scenes, especially the part Jesus was being tortured. it is really must see movie. buti nga 11pm na, kundi na pa simba ako ng de oras. :)
Guest dobby_gobby_man Posted March 17, 2004 Report Posted March 17, 2004 sabi nga rin ng mga pari at mga madre noong pinanood nila yung film. medyo brutal at yung ibang part daw sa movie was not based from the bible. pero ang explanation daw gibson is parang imagination nya daw about yung sa nangyari kay jesus at that time kasi di ba hindi rin naman masyadong complete yung bible kapag binasa mo. kaya dinagdagan nalang nya.
Guest kalinte Posted March 18, 2004 Report Posted March 18, 2004 saw the movie in dvd (pirated) same old thing...... more gory.... i hate the caption gimik...... didnt even bothered to look for mel gibson's hand. the reviews were rigth your going to hate the jews for what they did to jesus.
Guest adi116 Posted March 18, 2004 Report Posted March 18, 2004 Well, the film is not intended to develop hatred to Jews. I believe the main intention of the film is para ipakita sa mga viewers how much christ has done for us. And yung suffering na dinanas niya e hindi dahil gusto ng mga Jew kaya nangyari ang lahat ng iyon but God allowed Jesus to suffer and die on the cross in order for us to be saved. I believe, kung papanoorin mo ang movie you should set focus kay Christ, at sa sarili mo. Namatay si Christ hindi lang dahil sa mga Hudyo kundi para sa yo, sa akin, sa ating lahat for the purpose of not developing hatred to anyone, but for us that believes in Him should not perish but will have everlasting life. Guest dinoalbert Posted March 18, 2004 Report Posted March 18, 2004 showing na ba sa moviehouses ito? If not, kelan daw? @kalinte...yung DVD mo ba nito...DVD copy na? o hindi pa rin?
Guest kalinte Posted March 19, 2004 Report Posted March 19, 2004 @dino movie shot lang but okey and quality. there's no great sound tract to listen to anyway. @addi i wonder why they devoted only 30 sec to show the resurection of the christ. very little about his preaching even the last supper was a mere flashback, but they used gallons of blood thoug.

I believe the intention of the film is to highlight the suffering of Jesus Christ. Tama, mejo yung audience are left hanging after watching the film, pero I believe it shouldnt stop there. I believe asking yourself the right question will lead you to the real purpose of the film. You could ask yourself - Why did the Jews killed Jesus? - If you see the movie this way, then what you will develop is hatred and anger towards the Jews. But try to look at the story at a different angle - Why did jesus Christ died for me? Yes - we are all sinners: Jews, Gentiles, Catholics, Protestants, Atheist, Etc. - and we all deserve to die. But instead, Jesus chose to die for us so that we may live. For God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten Son that whoever BELIEVES in Him should not perish but will have eternal life (John 3:16)
Guest kalinte Posted March 22, 2004 Report Posted March 22, 2004 over all its a good movie. i read somewhere that the gory details of atrocities to the prisoners (jesus etc.) where taken from some written records as far back as 13th century A.D. (dark ages) no wonder they were brutal with a capital "B".

Guest adi116 Posted March 22, 2004 Report Posted March 22, 2004 Yes. But it is deeper than a destiny, It is according to God's purpose of saving us from our sins. Rom 8:28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose NIV
Guest poofy Posted March 23, 2004 Report Posted March 23, 2004 the film was created to show how Jesus suffered and the agony it brought the people close to Him. i dont think that the last supper, ressurection and some of his teachings showed be given any more length than the film has shown. people who watch the movie must understand and recognize the pain he received and how he dealt it and how he gave up His life for us. the sacrifice of one's life for another is the greatest sacrifice a person can give. for the christians, the film gave us the essence of why who we are and the faith we have devoted our lives to.
