Nokia MS Smartphone!?

In my local phone shop they have a Nokia 7600.... That's the shuriuken style nokia 3g handset....

However they had it running MS Smartphone 2002... Quite how i have no idea, The man in there said he rebuilt the insides... My guess is using the inside of an Mpx, and somehow wiring the keyboard/screen up to it...

The only two thing that didn't look right was the sd card slot, which was hanging out from the battery casing.... Also the nokia camera wasn't working.

Anyone have any idea how to do this??? Dreams of a T610 smartphone come to mind...... If noone has any idea, then I'm thinking of commisioning him to build me one.... Of course i'll be sure to send you guys the pictures to make you jealous :)

its possoble - rip the workings out a nokia and fit smartphone ones - not easy to do a good job tho.

did you take any pictures?

Was going to but guess what  The battery was dead on my e200...

Question: Could you use a Dummy Phone as a case for any converted phone???

lol. maybe modaco should have a competition - the most advanced brick.

But seriously - could be an idea for a competition - the best custom smart phone

if you can make the bits fit in you could make any phone look like anything...

Have you seen what they do with PCs on http://www.mini-itx.com/ ?

How about a cigarette packet smartphone? :) or dairy milk bar, quite literally a candy bar phone!

Until I discovered the joys of the Smartphone, I'd only ever used a Nokia. Never had any problems with them. Just a shame they don't have a smartphone version running Windows software. If they did, I'd certainly be interested. I know Nokia's a bit of a swearword here, but at least their phones appear to do everything they say they do (well in my limited experience anyway)!
