IMAP email - number of days to retrieve question

Having checked the topics fairly thoroughly and having no specific information whether this problem is device-specific, here is the question:

I have setup my i600 for an imap connection to my email. Setting the 'number of days' of email to 3 days through 'n' days causes email to be transferred to the phone (yeah!). Setting the 'number of days' to "today" results in no email being retrieved. (Yes, there is new email in the account and it has arrived on that day.)

Is this a feature or a bug or operator IQ underflow? Is there a solution or something that I need to do to make this option work?
