how to get pocketmvp to play files off your phone

I've just installed pocketmvp and when i ask it to open files, i don't get any listed.

My sample files are stored on my phone in the storagemy documentsvideo folder

but when i try to open a file, it doesn't give me the option to select thie folder. is this something that is hard coded into the software.

I have no sd card yet, waiting for one arriving from the states.

What format are the files in?

they are .avi (divx 5.0.2) format.

I installed pocketmvp by copying the folder it was installed to from one phone to another because the cab installer won't install unless you have a sd card in.

I guess i need to enter the registry entries from the setup.inf but don't know how to do this, ca't merge them like on a pc.

Any help would be greatful.

As far as I'm aware (awarner will correct me if I'm wrong) the files MUST be in the root of your SD card. Admittedly this is as annoying as hell (Especially if you have umpteen clips), but its the easiest way for it to work.

As to the file encoding, it should be fine, but there's my guide in the fact if you want to make sure.

You bet. Been re-encoding my friends episodes following your guides of course, gettin em down to around 8mb each..... not bad.

8MB EACH?!?!?!?!?!?!? Even with my bad eyesite I'd struggle with anything less than about 20MB. Are you sure these are watchable? But either way, thats some SERIOUS compression mate!

Cheers for that..... the bloody manual from orange doesn't tell you s**t about the functions of this phone.
