Hi all,

Last night my phone showed 99% on the battery meter. This morning I woke up (luckily) and the phone had powered itself off. Plugged it into the mains, it booted up and the battery meter was on rock bottom. This is my 3rd MPX200 in less than 3 months. The first one kept locking up on the Hellomoto screen. The second one did the same thing and now this. Please let me have your suggestions for a suitable replacement.

Are you sure orange didn't go down in your area or something? The other night, all the orange phones in my house switched to no access, and it must really kill the battery trying to look for signal, because my battery lasted about 5 minutes.

Honest Opinion???

Wait... No point in getting SPV until some problems are sorted out.

Mpx220 would be the sensible thing to upgrade to with the e300 due this Q3... Just wait it out until the next wave of phones is released...

Unless you want to fork out for a 8390 that is

Yeah man, I've been there. My mate just got a Sony Ericsson P900 which, although bigger than an MPX, is still a pretty nifty bit of kit.

i would suggest, if you don't want to go for a 4th mpx (which i think is unavailible for O) is the P900.

Sony-Ericsson over N**** any day....

Thing is, I really like the MPX200 - it's just the problems that wind me up. Then some people have had no problems. I'll try and get a replacement. Maybe if I stop intalling loads of un-certified crap, the next one might behave a bit better!

I had the same problem happen to me twice, I think it is what pembo mentioned. The phone is continously looking for a signal and using up alot of the battery. In my case my phone searched for a signal and gave up after a while, I went along the whole day with out it getting connected, until I turned it off and then back on.

With the MPx200 the signal strength can vary significantly in just a few inches. In my office I have full strength in one spot and not two steps away I have no signal at all. I could easily see a case where you put the phone in a spot (maybe on it's side) where there was no signal just in that area. In less than an hour your phone will be dead as a door knob.
