Guest Posted March 18, 2004 Report Posted March 18, 2004 Hello friends, Mapopolis apparently is the first GPS application ported for Smartphone OS and working with Bluetooth. I own a Fortuna GPSmart, which is a nice device as it has a monochrome display (means: it can work as a standalone GPS device) and can bond via BT to an other BT-device, such as the iPAQ. Advantage: provides data for being used with detailed maps. Tried to use it with the Qtek 8080 (firmware 1.7.x) over BT with Mapopolis Trial. Didn't work :-(( The Qtek finds the device but continuously asks for the BT-PIN (this is generally 0000 for the GPSmart, but it doesn't work). As I also read reports saying it works (however most people say it currently doesn't) I suppose that the few people who succeeded in using Mapopolis on the Qtek 8080 have already the beta firmware on their Smartphone or maybe a later version than 1.7.x Can anyone confirm that the above combination is working and post here which firmware he is using ? Thanks !
