Guest pacey2g Posted March 19, 2004 Report Posted March 19, 2004 grrrrrrrrrr, last week my sd card slot decided to pack in, and i intended to send it back, but never got rnd to it, well tonight, i dont know at all why, the port on the bottom has failed too, i.e. it will no longer charge or sync, or even register sumthing is plugged into it, im not an orange care customer at the moment tho... -EDIT- phew i feel both relieved and an idiot :) the port wouldnt work because a)the charger plug had come out, and b)my sister unplugged my usb lead lol, but still i do need to get the sd slot fixed  -EDIT- further to this, rite now the fone is barred because orange didnt set up a direct debit on my account :/ so 2moro i have to go to an orange shop and pay, and get them to phone up to lift the bar.... so i ask this - cud i arrange to have orange care added from now on when i pay the outstanding bill, and in say 2/3 days time get a replacement? wot do ppl think?
Guest squall Posted March 19, 2004 Report Posted March 19, 2004 firstly ask orange about warrenty care wise orange will replace the handset for £75 one off payment Or £25 and a years subscription to orange care at £5 a month.
Guest squall Posted March 19, 2004 Report Posted March 19, 2004 glad its working - would still get onto o about the sd card issue
Guest pacey2g Posted March 19, 2004 Report Posted March 19, 2004 yup thx for the tip, is it 24 hours for a replacement? or is that just the "ideal" time from oranges b.s. department? hehe i think i will end up buying the orange care to get it fixed, from what iv heard htc are even worse than orange at customer service :)
Guest squall Posted March 19, 2004 Report Posted March 19, 2004 orange care is 24 hour replacement i believe - warrenty is messy. used to be you had to send to a repair company - thats no longer the case so im notsure what the procedure is
Guest Terry Gibson Posted March 19, 2004 Report Posted March 19, 2004 Orange Care is 24 Hour replacement. They offer you a time slot for delivery at a location of your choice. One thing for O' Smartphone Beta tester customers to feel good about.............. :)
Guest Pulse Posted March 19, 2004 Report Posted March 19, 2004 So what happens if something just 'stops working' in the first year. Can you not get a replacement regardless?
Guest markdotpeters5 Posted March 19, 2004 Report Posted March 19, 2004 depends whether the warranty company are feeling nice on the day. I sent my SPV away to get repaired under warranty (or so I thought), and they charged me £60 to fix it, £17 to return it unrepaired and if I didn't pay, they'd throw the phone away! So the alleged warranty is worth next to sod all imo. Either get good house insurance, or if you're feeling brave, Orange "care"
