Guest AaronSoup Posted March 19, 2004 Report Posted March 19, 2004 i like the keypad.. very much like the samsung e700 which is nice. shame the aerial appears to be disproportionatly bigger than the rest of the phone. Posted from my SmartPhone!
Guest nickcornaglia Posted March 19, 2004 Report Posted March 19, 2004 Strange quote at the bottom of their CEBIT SAMSUNG PAGE..... "I will not post pictures of Samsung’s smartphones, the very same I500 is known for more than a year. But not everyone was able to find out that it was updated, from now on it works under MS Windows Mobile 2003, instead of MS Smartphone 2002. This means that the phone’s shippings will begin in April, May and will be direct competitor for other manufacturer’s solutions. " .......And the i500 was a Palm Phone!!!

Guest midnight Posted March 19, 2004 Report Posted March 19, 2004 looks great, apart from that antenna, i just hope they redesign that before final release of the phone :)
Guest [email protected] Posted March 19, 2004 Report Posted March 19, 2004 I don't mind antennas actually, I find them sort of... hm logical I guess. The way I see it, the radiowaves are less likely to fry my brains if the antenna is on the outside of the phone.
Guest kyrkesmith Posted March 19, 2004 Report Posted March 19, 2004 The keypad seems to have a couple of extra buttons. The C button beneath the directional pad is definately an extra (camera, perhaps?), and then what I would assume is the action button is labled i for some reason. The dreaded msmobiles has this pretty clear picture. .
Guest Gorskar Posted March 20, 2004 Report Posted March 20, 2004 Perhaps the C is the record button, moved from the ususal place on the side of the phone?
Guest kyrkesmith Posted March 20, 2004 Report Posted March 20, 2004 Perhaps the C is the record button, moved from the ususal place on the side of the phone? I'm not sure, because if you look closely at the left, you can see what looks like the volume control, plus one additional button, which I assume must be the record button, since it looks (I think, the logo actually looks a bit dodgy) like they've comined the power button with the red call end button.
Guest Twain Posted March 20, 2004 Report Posted March 20, 2004 Normal samsungs have the C button as a clear or cancel button but don't see the need in this with the back key, and would have though if it was the camera button it would use a pic of a camera, also the recent samsung clamshells all hav the camera button outside so u can take photos with the phone closed. As for the I button it normally goes to the browser so i assume will shortcut to internet explorer.
Guest kyrkesmith Posted March 20, 2004 Report Posted March 20, 2004 As for the I button it normally goes to the browser so i assume will shortcut to internet explorer. But then where's the action button? I don't believe this can be the final keypad layout.
Guest nickcornaglia Posted March 20, 2004 Report Posted March 20, 2004 There's a button on the VOQ that is similar to this one. If it's anything like the VOQ's functionality....it's a shortcut button that runs commonly used functions and apps.
Guest Twain Posted March 21, 2004 Report Posted March 21, 2004 Good point i didn't even realise the lack of an action button, maybe the handset wasn't originally designed for smartphone software and is still somewhat in the middle of changing! but apart from that the phone still looks very nice, and in terms of the aerial they aren't to bad i actually found it useful on my old t100 as it gave me something to grip to pull it out of my pocket.
Guest gvr Posted April 21, 2004 Report Posted April 21, 2004 A nice view of the i250..... Will have to look into getting one! :D
Guest Exodia Posted September 20, 2004 Report Posted September 20, 2004 Any more news on this phone? I like the way it looks.... and the mpx220 needs some competition. :)
Guest gvr Posted September 24, 2004 Report Posted September 24, 2004 But then where's the action button? I don't believe this can be the final keypad layout. Might be an 'interaction' button, or is that thinking too logical for a phone design
Guest Pigo Posted September 25, 2004 Report Posted September 25, 2004 looks good. samsung has good quality (as far as I know) but does anybody have the measurements? Pigo
