Guest dogblanket Posted March 19, 2004 Report Posted March 19, 2004 I have just bought a 128mb sd card and reader to use with my spv e100 smart phone. When i copy an mpeg clip, wmv clip or an mp3 file to the card and try to play them back on the phone via media player the playback is dreadful and stutters badly. I have the same problem even with streaming audio or video too. I was hoping that the sd card would cure this problem but it makes no difference. Could anyone help me please? Many thanks
Guest PritenC Posted March 19, 2004 Report Posted March 19, 2004 There are some things you can try: use a task manager to close some applications before you start playing, try restarting your phone (off then on, not hard reset) or re encode your files to a lower bit rate, because the processor cannot play very high bit rate files try these, if they don't work you should try searching the forum for other similar problems _____________________________ []D ][][ / (C
Guest dogblanket Posted March 20, 2004 Report Posted March 20, 2004 Thanks for the advice, its much appreciated. I'll have a fiddle with task manager as soon as my boss leaves the office :-)
Guest nvkid909 Posted March 21, 2004 Report Posted March 21, 2004 i've found the windows media player on smartphone to be only fit for mp3 & wma. i've had it for 3 months now & never had an instance where it's played wmv that's watchable. get pockettv (classic version is free) as theres much better choice of mpeg video than wmv. even most of the wmv's i've viewed on the pc have been terrible quality, like watching it thru' hand blown glass!?! shuttering occurs loads when using the phone - calling, browsing, even just scrolling affects it. i've got me head round not doing these while it plays, & with pockettv for the video side, i'm rather pleased with this all singing all dancing phone.
Guest kelv23 Posted March 22, 2004 Report Posted March 22, 2004 agreed, you can find Pocket TV here www.pockettv.com or www.monolithix.org much better than media player IMHO
