Guest pcj2000 Posted March 19, 2004 Report Posted March 19, 2004 i have tried to watch small (1-3mbs) .wav files on the media player but i am having a problem getting a smooth picture. (have tried watching them on my pc and they run smoothly) the audio plays normally but the picture will stick occassionally then skip to catch up. is this normal or am i just expecting too much from my phone? are there some video files that run better? are there ways to keep the memory on the phone lower (ie programs that are not neede.)? cheers pcj ps great site, already helped me loads.
Guest nxsfan Posted March 19, 2004 Report Posted March 19, 2004 I'm guessing that u mean wmv files as you arent going to get any picture if you are sat around trying to play back wav files. Anyway, i get smooth playback with wm 8 enc video at ~100kbs and something like 22khz mono audio at a low bitrate and encoded at 10 fps. If this isn't helpful, then you'll find lots of other encoding info on this site, including the best settings for mpeg2 and divx when used with pocket mvp.
Guest pcj2000 Posted March 19, 2004 Report Posted March 19, 2004 very true about the wav/wmv mix up. :? cheers for advice will see if i can work it out. :)
Guest equis Posted March 22, 2004 Report Posted March 22, 2004 An other thing might be that they maybe to large, the resolution should be set smaller since the screen on the MPX is pretty small. If you try to view lets say 800X600 clip, you will get the screen getting stuck with on the audio playing. Trying playing clips with a small resolution.
Guest abatis Posted March 23, 2004 Report Posted March 23, 2004 Why not convert to Mpeg and use PocketTV - works great.
