Guest bikespod Posted March 20, 2004 Report Posted March 20, 2004 I have seen the good news on the update and am hoping all is well with those who have done it. I however cannot get my phone to active sync since updating windows xp home to xp professional???? any ideas would be much appreciated, I want to try this out, it feels like we have benn waiting an eternity and now its here EARLIER than predicted.
Guest nickcornaglia Posted March 20, 2004 Report Posted March 20, 2004 Did you try re-installing ActiveSync?
Guest bikespod Posted March 20, 2004 Report Posted March 20, 2004 tried that i'm afraid. rebooted comp and done a power off and on again on phone. even tried battery off. it doesn't even recognise the cradle as new hardware as was using bluetooth before.Posted from my SmartPhone!
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted March 20, 2004 Report Posted March 20, 2004 Did you try to uninstallreinstall Activsync mentioned in this post? http://smartphone.modaco.com/viewtopic.php?t=142 Also was the XP pro a clean install or on top of Home?
Guest bikespod Posted March 20, 2004 Report Posted March 20, 2004 haven't tried the one in the post, just did a remove prog and them reinstalled. xp was installed over home. is that a problem? thought it would just update. am trying a reinstall of pro with the dynamic update, which i didn't do before. Guest bikespod Posted March 20, 2004 Report Posted March 20, 2004 the installation has come up with a message. the procedure entry point getIUMS could not be located in the dynamic link library MSDART.DLL. i'm afraid this is all dutch to me. is there a way to just go back to xp home? that came on the comp. Guest awarner [MVP] Posted March 21, 2004 Report Posted March 21, 2004 Problem in the end was Norton blocking Activsync.
