Guest v1nn1e Posted March 20, 2004 Report Posted March 20, 2004 Before the update i had the phone synced via bluetooth with my pc. I can't seem to do it anymore! To all those who have successfully done this, has it been made easier by the new port settings on the e200? how do you use them? Appreciate a bit of help on this. thanks
Guest zerocool Posted March 20, 2004 Report Posted March 20, 2004 im having the same problem someone help !!!

Guest Bro Posted March 20, 2004 Report Posted March 20, 2004 add me to the list off head scratchers... worked fine via BT before update??
Guest proxo Posted March 20, 2004 Report Posted March 20, 2004 Works fine for me. I just had to recreate the bond between phone and PC.
Guest Pulse Posted March 20, 2004 Report Posted March 20, 2004 I wish I could help, but it took a lot of playing about last night! Best option is to changes the ports they use, and then change them back.
Guest v1nn1e Posted March 21, 2004 Report Posted March 21, 2004 Got it working! I didn't use any of the new port settings provided! This is how i did it... Sync with cradle first. Put the bluetooth adapter into the same port(don't know if this made any difference but its how i did it!). Set up a COM port on the pc's bluetooth software. i.e COM5. Don't make it secure but make it start automatically. With the phone, partner with your pc. I only made Serial port service available from my pc and not all the other services like headset. Then go to your phone where the pc's bluetooth software shows all paired devices. Change its properties. tick all the boxes. This tells the computer that your device needs no verification. Set the COM port in activesync to the bluetooth serial port. Sync your phone by 'connect via bluetooth' on activesync on your phone. Worked for me!
Guest zerocool Posted March 21, 2004 Report Posted March 21, 2004 i have just got mine to work by pairin the phone to the pc (i had paired the pc to the phone) then it worked
Guest Cybox Posted March 30, 2004 Report Posted March 30, 2004 Cheers Zero cool.... done it your way (ie phone to PC and works a treat now) :) Cybox
Guest Thurstan Posted April 15, 2004 Report Posted April 15, 2004 I'm really having problems with this - I've tried each way but can't get it to work any more. I've tried uninstalling my Bluetooth software and ActiveSync and then reinstalling, which frees up all the COM ports again - and my E200 connects to my PC fine. But I can't get ActiveSync to work between the two - any thoughts?
Guest Jamst3r Posted April 16, 2004 Report Posted April 16, 2004 I am also having trouble. I have followed everyones advice, but whenever I select Connect via Bluetooth absolutly nothing happens. I have serial port enabled and activesync setup (exactly like it used to work before the update).
Guest Vector Posted April 16, 2004 Report Posted April 16, 2004 remove all partnerships on PC and Phone. Then on phone go to Settings>Bluetooth>Set it to discoverable>Menu>New>Choose PC and bond Then try syncing via bt again :D
Guest ferret Posted April 16, 2004 Report Posted April 16, 2004 Mine worked first time using Davidrm's method, but with bluetooth set to on. (I always thought that discoverable mode was used when a device tries to see the phone, and on when the phone is searching for a device. Or is it posh names for the same thing?)
Guest Vector Posted April 16, 2004 Report Posted April 16, 2004 hmm, not sure, as long as you don't have discoverable on all the time as that really kills battery life :D
Guest ferret Posted April 16, 2004 Report Posted April 16, 2004 hmm, not sure, as long as you don't have discoverable on all the time as that really kills battery life :D Tell me about it, being a BT newbie I thought I'd try some bluejacking in the local pub a while back. Settings > BT > Discoverable and then I waited for a phone to connect so I could jack it. :? Oh dear, anyway, have since learned how to do it the proper way. ;) My mate has a 6600 and doesn't know how to switch BT off, so we keep sending him requests for a round, tedious after a while yet still strangely amusing
Guest rhaleuk Posted April 17, 2004 Report Posted April 17, 2004 I found it REALLY hard to get the BT working after the update. Im sorry I cant offer an explanation for how I did it, but I know it took about 2 hours.
Guest Vector Posted April 17, 2004 Report Posted April 17, 2004 The way i described in my earlier post seems to work every time for me :D
