Guest DancingMatt Posted December 19, 2002 Report Posted December 19, 2002 So just got the SPV, hooray - I think! The speeddials for Inbox (2) and IE (3) weren't assigned when I started using the phone, so I looked through the menus, looked at the shortcuts page and the only speeddial set up was Voice Mail on 1. I had a fiddle with the options and accidentally (still can't get used to the joystick) set it to another number. Couldn't then set it back to 1, as it's "". So I deleted this useless speeddial as I only wanted it on 1... and now I have no speeddials at all. And I can't assign anything to 1 as it's, yes, still "". But it doesn't work for Voice Mail! I don't have "Voice Mail" in my contacts. I do have "Answer Phone" which I can't assign to 1. How do I get 1 to speeddial voicemail? Do I need to actually have a contact called "Voice Mail" and it's assigned automatically? And, did your phone have 2 and 3 assigned to Inbox/SMS and IE respectively when you got it? My options 2 and 3 are blank and not "". Please help! Thanks, DM
Guest madu Posted December 19, 2002 Report Posted December 19, 2002 Settings > Telephony > Call Options > Voice Mail Number (L1) Mine is +447973100123
Guest DancingMatt Posted December 19, 2002 Report Posted December 19, 2002 No, what I mean is I have no speeddial for Voice Mail. I hold down the 1 key, all it does is display 1 and filter the contacts I might want to dial. I keep it held down for 3 or 4 seconds, nothing more happens. I've got the same setting you mention above, but no speeddial on key 1 and I can't assign anything to it! Time for a hard reset? God, I've had it 24 hours...
Guest madu Posted December 19, 2002 Report Posted December 19, 2002 Well, I thought its assigned automatically when number entered in that settings string.. Ermm.. no other ideas at the mo.
Guest HelloDave Posted December 19, 2002 Report Posted December 19, 2002 If you look at your start menu using (ALL - ) explorer (IPSMWindowsStart Menu) there is by default a shortcut called "Voicemail" (which is presumably a shortcut to the phone no.) which is hidden so it doesn't appear in the programs menu on the phone, and that is assigned to shortcut key 1 by default. Perhaps you've lost this shortcut, so the OS can't find it when you press 1, but it's still assigned to shortcut key 1? If this shortcut isn't on your phone, try adding a dummy shortcut called voicemail to your start menu and then see if the phone will let you delete the speed dial. Hope that's some help!
