help with email sending!

Hi,

Basically I think I am shafted.

Two days ago, all smtp mail being sent through outlook and outlook express stopped working for all my email accounts (aol, yahoo and freeserve).

Essentially I keep getting this error message using outlook express, sending mail through any number of my email accounts, logged onto aol broadband:

Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity. Account: 'imap.uk.aol.com', Server: 'smtp.uk.aol.com', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F

Prior to my email problems, a trojan managed to infect my windows folder. So I backed up my files, and formatted my hard drive, reinstalled everything.

The thing is, I still keep getting the above message when I try to send, so formatting and reinstalling made no difference.

What really drives me mad, is that if I dial up using a freeserve account, all smtp mail being sent through outlook/outlook express is sent! So it looks like an aol broadband specific issue.

AOL are not helping me saying they do not support either Outlook/express.

This is doing my head in.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks for that.

But unfortunately none of those links worked.

I bloody hate aol! Why do they have to be the only non-bt broadband providers in my area!?!?!?!?

I don't want to have to log off aol and log onto freeserve to send my yahoo and company smtp mails. That's just plain stupid!

I am still open to suggestions.

Thanks.

My email account is primarily with yahoo and biophyl (my own domain).

I use freeserve to test things.

I think the God of computers hates me at the moment.

Oh well.

Try resetting your BB connection, then disconnecting any firewall you may have running such as Zonealarm or Norton Internet security. Failing that remove and recreate the account(s) in Outlook, see if that helps.
