Guest Simon Desser Posted March 22, 2004 Report Posted March 22, 2004 I'm sorry to moan once again but here goes  Since updating my E200, 4 people have complained they can "hardly hear me" and asked me to speak up, including Orange CS on 150  So I left myself a couple of messages on my voicemail at work, one on my updated E200, and one on my P900, and they're right, it's REALLY QUIET :? The tone of my E200 is actually much nicer and richer than my P900, but that's no good if people can't hear me  Below is a picture of the wav files, which show just how quiet the updated E200 is :!: Noone has ever complained before I updated, so I can only assume they've turned the microphone down substantially :?:E200 & P900 Wav files.jpg
Guest badboy4life Posted March 22, 2004 Report Posted March 22, 2004 I've had people sayin to me they can't hear me either, never really related it to the update - but think your right!!!
Guest M@rkC Posted March 22, 2004 Report Posted March 22, 2004 I'm with you guys - I've got my volume maxed out and it's still difficult to hear the person on the other end......I've found, just on the four calls I've made/received today that I've become one of those annoying "look at me everyone, I've got a mobile phone" twats that shouts into it just so the poor sod I'm yelling at can hear me!! I just hope I don't get a call from my father-in-law; he's deaf in one ear and hard of hearing in the other....might have to use the phone with a BT headset, and a bloody PA system to get through to him :) Joy and rapture......any chance Paul can find a 1.6 ROM so we can downgrade??
Guest Simon Desser Posted March 23, 2004 Report Posted March 23, 2004 And just to prove that they've fu**ed the Mic up with this update, here's a comparison of an original E200 and my upgraded one :!: :shock:E200 vs Updated E200.gif
Guest Dave.Burn Posted March 23, 2004 Report Posted March 23, 2004 I agree totally, try using the speakerphone, all right for listening to messages, try having a conversation. I was in the car with the engine off and talking to the missus, I put it on speaker and asked her to tell me a phone number so I could put it straight into my phone, I had to hold it next to my mouth and shout, took it off speaker and used it normally and it was ok. MESSED UP!!!
Guest simon11 Posted March 23, 2004 Report Posted March 23, 2004 One step forward and three steps back!!!! Simon.
Guest Bonzo Posted March 24, 2004 Report Posted March 24, 2004 And just to prove that they've fu**ed the Mic up with this update, here's a comparison of an original E200 and my upgraded one Hmmmm have U tried a spectrum analysis of those files too... would be interesting to know if it looks like just the filtering that has been messed around with or overall volume, compression or wotever too!!!
Guest RussellH Posted March 24, 2004 Report Posted March 24, 2004 I always found that people couldn't hear me when I used the speaker phone. I'm not sure this is to do with the update. I seem to remember reading something on another thread a while back about this. Could be worse though with the update.
Guest mikeyboy Posted March 24, 2004 Report Posted March 24, 2004 This problem with the speakerphone occurs on the XPhone, I can hear very very clearly the other party but they cant hear me unless my mouth is on the phone and even then its not very clear and it has had no upgrade.
Guest Simon Desser Posted March 24, 2004 Report Posted March 24, 2004 Non of what I'm saying has anything to do with the speakerphone :? I'm talking about using it as a phone, holding it to your ear, since the update, people struggle to hear you :) (And the second picture proves it :!: )
Guest crimminsky Posted March 24, 2004 Report Posted March 24, 2004 same here, I want to go back a ROM, what's the chances though???
