I saw this article on www.msmobiles.com They have pictures of a ROM upgrade to windows 2003 with the official AT&T logos and verified windows mobile 2003 version numbers. This rom only works on MPX200 on AT&T Wireless and not for orange. They do not know if AT&T will offer the upgrade to current users but what needs to happen is the rom needs to be aquired by someone in this forum, posted, and tried out !!!

please somebody with connections get ahold of this ROM. I do not have the patience for AT&T to finally send it to me or send my phone in to get it put on.

What he does not tell you is that version his contact has is not the final release and is only a pre release.

This does not mean that AT&T will ever release it.

well, we need somebody on this forum to get a copy and get a few people to try it out and see if this pre-release is stable enough. I'm sure if it's decided that it runs stable enough that most people would just want to use it and not wait months and months for AT&T to finally release it.

What if it is not stable and your phone is acting even more screwed up. As I know it there are no roll backs to orginal factory for the mpx200 available.

there *IS* the "leaked" MPx200 upgrade. That supposedly works better than AT&T's anyway...

Actually, it isn't an upgrade. Just a generic ROM that Motorolla had prior to giving the phone to the wireless providers. It isn't reallly any better or worse, it just doesn't have the AT&T stuff in the ROM. Actually, if the upgrade to 2003 is offered, and you need to be an AT&T customer to get it, having the Generic ROM will prevent you from being able to install the ROM (at least until someone figures out a crack for it).

whew, thank god i didn't flash the phone. so theres no making an image of the att rom so there's a backup in case the leaked generic one doesn't allow you install an official ATT wm2k3 rom?
