Keypad Backlight

I had a funny feeling that my phone would do something bad when I went away for a few days, and guess what? It did!

The light behind the keys has stopped working. I have been playing with power management settings so could this have had something to do with it?

Is this a known fault? What with Orange not having many of these in stock, what can I expect from them with no Orange Care? Or maybe this is a registry issue?

Any help would be appreciated.

What are your Power Management backlight timeout set to? the light behind the keys should go on/off with the display light. They aren't the brightest - have you checked in the dark?

Hi. They're definately not lit any more. All I can guess is that if it's software, it could be a messed up registry or PocketMVP, or a hardware fault- the light on the extedrock LCD is working fine.

Maybe a full reset is in order when I get home.

Thank god Im not going mad!! I had the very same thing happen to me! I was going to post the very same question when suddenly after a hard reset mine started to work and have worked ever since (4 hard resets later) strange ..... very strange.....!

Are you saying that it took four hard resets to make it work, or it's still working after four resets?

Mine is with Motorola at the moment, but it'd be nice to know if I could have fixed it myself.

It started to work after the first hard reset and as worked ever since..... very strange..... but its funny you should mention "PocketMVP" because I installed it when I first had my phone but never bothered since..!
