Guest badboy4life Posted March 22, 2004 Report Posted March 22, 2004 Just spotted this over on Smart' ease and it resolves the GPRS problems too. Edit:Just tested removing ClearType and works on UK update, only the thing is the options are in french. It also associates icons for folders including Accessories, Games, Orange and Microsoft. Don't really use GPRS so not tested. Translated: Shell-orange is a software free and signed which will make it possible to remove ClearType on the new ROM 2.6.x.x, to configure connections GPRS in persistent mode bus since the update you cannot make persistent connection any more (for example, you cannot remain any more to connect to MSN Messenger), limps it vocal Orange will be configured automatically, finally the files of the menu "To start" now have adapatées icons. Shell-orange is thus a numerically signed freeware which only requires to mature, I am thus with your listening in order to add to it new functions like your re-installed bug and of ergonomic defect (since I am the developer). Also note that this Shell-Orange will be very soon available in the heading "Put at jour/Téléchargement" of your SPV E200 as well as a version for our anglophone friends with a version adapted for Orange the U.K Source: http://www.smartease.net Download here: http://perso.wanadoo.fr/smartease/Smarteas...hell-Orange.cab
Guest Pagemakers Posted March 23, 2004 Report Posted March 23, 2004 Fantastic hbadboy4life!! What is the 3rd option down for?shell.jpg
Guest badboy4life Posted March 23, 2004 Report Posted March 23, 2004 I think its got something to do with voicemail, but don't speak French so don't know for sure.
Guest Pagemakers Posted March 23, 2004 Report Posted March 23, 2004 Hey the ClearType thingy works. Sadly the GRPS connection still disconnects after an inbox send & receive or when you press the red end key. It would be great if this could be fixed too.....
Guest Simon Desser Posted March 23, 2004 Report Posted March 23, 2004 FANTASTIC :) It's things like this that stop me from turning my back on MS Mobiles
Guest Pagemakers Posted March 23, 2004 Report Posted March 23, 2004 Cant get GPRS to stay connected or turn clear type off internet explorer. Posted from my SmartPhone!
Guest tooney Posted March 23, 2004 Report Posted March 23, 2004 This prog does not seem to turn cleartype off in internet explorer, but after using it you can turn it off using reg edit to change ClearTypeText value from 1 to 0 in HKEY_L_MSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrent VersionInternet Settings
Guest Pagemakers Posted March 23, 2004 Report Posted March 23, 2004 I found that too. I can't get the GPRS settings to work at all.
Guest jimbou Posted March 23, 2004 Report Posted March 23, 2004 Can we add our own icons,or just the ones that are already there?
Guest atonks Posted March 23, 2004 Report Posted March 23, 2004 :) This is great! Well found BadBoy =D>
Guest JRC Posted March 23, 2004 Report Posted March 23, 2004 There is an english version without the "messagerie vocale" option. Note : the cab isn't signed but the exe file is signed. Download : http://perso.wanadoo.fr/smartease/Smarteas...ll-OrangeUK.cab New version 1.2UK - connections GPRS are now stables and are not disconnected by pressing the "The hang up key" (red touch).
Guest PhilA Posted March 23, 2004 Report Posted March 23, 2004 How's this for irony - I eagerly installed this application and turned off ClearType, then when I restarted my phone I realised that I'd got so used to ClearType I prefer it on now - guess everyone who said "you get used to it and then it's better" was right :)
Guest sgannon Posted March 23, 2004 Report Posted March 23, 2004 Fantastic - my display is readable again. I'd resigned myself to having to "get used to it" but now I don't! :) If only SmartEase had a "Remember Memory Card" option they'd have dug Orange out of a very large hole..
Guest JRC Posted March 23, 2004 Report Posted March 23, 2004 The new version for english users is available... Look the screenshoot :ScreenShot0009.jpg
Guest nickcornaglia Posted March 23, 2004 Report Posted March 23, 2004 Where is the UK Version located?
Guest M@rkC Posted March 23, 2004 Report Posted March 23, 2004 There is an english version without the "messagerie vocale" option. Note : the cab isn't signed but the exe file is signed. That's where the UK version is (on the previous page of this post :!: )
Guest shadamehr Posted March 23, 2004 Report Posted March 23, 2004 Just to clarify for the two users in question - the english link was down most of the afternoon. It now works.
Guest crafty Posted March 23, 2004 Report Posted March 23, 2004 Note that for the custom icons, this needs to either be installed on the phone (rather than to the Storage Card) or you need to edit the hidden file icon.lnk that is pasted into the effected folders to reflect the different path (i.e. to read Storage Card... rather than Storage...) see nedge2k's post here for more info on how to do this.
Guest Bonzo Posted March 23, 2004 Report Posted March 23, 2004 Isn't it a real shame tho when a third party developer has to sort out teh problems caused y an official update  and other than our greatful thanks I doubt the will see anything from it!!!
Guest Pagemakers Posted March 23, 2004 Report Posted March 23, 2004 Wow, unlike the French version GPRS stays connected after a send/receive and after pressing the red call end button and ClearType is turn off and onable :) Together with Mapopolis, this is the best app for my E200. Thank you to whoever made it!
Guest nickcornaglia Posted March 23, 2004 Report Posted March 23, 2004 That's where the UK version is (on the previous page of this post :!: ) Cool, it wasnt there this morning. Nice!
Guest tane14 Posted March 24, 2004 Report Posted March 24, 2004 Now we only need some third part software to return our sound back as it was(at least it was more lively to me) Well done smartease... :)
Guest monty1 Posted March 24, 2004 Report Posted March 24, 2004 JRC well spotted could you provide us with the link as i cant find the Uk version on the site ,probably because my French is rubbish
Guest M@rkC Posted March 24, 2004 Report Posted March 24, 2004 That's where the UK version is (on the previous page of this post :!: ) Monty, at the risk of repeating my previous post (which I'm doing for those of you watching in black and white :? ), the link to the UK version is shown above....and at the start of this thread. Don't think it's published on the webiste, only the French one......HTH
