Guest nickcornaglia Posted March 23, 2004 Report Posted March 23, 2004 MoDaCo member, badboy4life, found a nifty little app that may calm those screaming that they hate the new ClearType implemented on the new e200 ROM Upgrade. French Website, http://www.smartease.com is reporting a new app that claims to: - Disable ClearType on the e200. (Tested and works) - Associate icons for Start Menu Folders(Tested and works) - Keep your GPRS Connection open, aka Persistent Mode (UK Ver: Tested and works) The program was intended for the e200 French ROM so, as always, use at your own risk. But Smartease says that a UK version is in the works. EDIT: UK Version has been released. Follow the thread below. Here is a googled translation from the Smartease.com site: Since the update for the SPV E200 of which we had announced to you the availability at the time of the preceding one news, ClearType posting was added. ClearType is a technology introduced with Windows Mobile 2003 (PocketPC and Smartphone) the purpose of which is to smooth contours of the characters posted with the screen. According to users', that can like or not being given the flouté aspect resulting from the use of this technology, the more so as the slowed down latter very appreciably the smartphone with posting being given the treatment of smoothing in "real time". Shell-orange is a software free and signed which will make it possible to remove ClearType on the new ROM 2.6.x.x, to configure connections GPRS in persistent mode bus since the update you cannot make persistent connection any more (for example, you cannot remain any more to connect to MSN Messenger), limps it vocal Orange will be configured automatically, finally the files of the menu "To start" now have adapatées icons. Shell-orange is thus a digitally signed freeware which only requires to mature, I am thus with your listening in order to add to it new functions like your re-installed bug and of ergonomic defect (since I am the developer). Also note that this Shell-Orange will be very soon available in the heading "Put at jour/Téléchargement" of your SPV E200 as well as a version for our British friends with a version adapted for Orange the U.K. >>> Original Modaco Thread - Download Links and Discuss Here <<<
