Guest e200novice Posted March 23, 2004 Report Posted March 23, 2004 Can someone please tell me how I format a new 128M card?. When I put it in my e200 and check system settings, it knows that 120M is there but I cannot take video clips on it etc!. I do not have a card reader and I cant find an option in task manager. Thanks in advance.
Guest Disco Stu Posted March 23, 2004 Report Posted March 23, 2004 Welcome to the forum mate. You don't need to format the card before use (assuming it's from a reputable manufacturer). When you're in video camera mode, press Menu, Options, General, and change Storage from Internal Memory to Storage Card. If you've got vids on the phone memory already you can transfer them using ActiveSync or Smart Explorer. Did I answer your question ? :)
Guest e200novice Posted March 23, 2004 Report Posted March 23, 2004 Cheers for the reply mate. the process that you described does work on other cards that I have but not on the 128M. I bought it from comet I think and it is made by Dane-elec who ever they are?? I had no idea that the make of card would matter. I took it out of the case and straight into the phone but I get the message 'unable to start recording videos. File access was denied'. The home screen then goes very pixely until I remove the card!! Me thinks I may have bought a duffer what thinks you??
Guest Disco Stu Posted March 24, 2004 Report Posted March 24, 2004 Have to agree with you, old chap. There have been issues with some manufacturers and don't even go there with that dual-layer jive. A plain old SanDisk is a safe bet and here's my preferred vendor : http://www.stores.ebay.co.uk/ukmemorysupplier
Guest e200novice Posted March 24, 2004 Report Posted March 24, 2004 Thanks again. It is now in the bin(lost reciept)!! Will follow your advice and go with the sandisk version from ebay. Good to know that the right advice is out there. Cheers mate.
