Guest ChrisMDP Posted March 23, 2004 Report Posted March 23, 2004 This isn't strictly C++ Development, but I thought it would be the best place for this question... I'm banging my head against this problem - when I try to send multimedia push messages to my phone, the message comes into the inbox, but the contents merely say "The contents of this message cannot be displayed". I'm with UK orange, and I guess that the phone does not allow WAP push from random gateways. I've been reading around the problem, and I came across this newsgroup post on Google groups... I've tried doing what they say (setting parms 4108 and 4109), but I still get the same problem. Have any of you developer chaps found similar problems with push messages on UK Orange? Perhaps you know how to set up trusted proxies on the phone, or how to allow untrusted messages better than I do. I'd be really grateful for any help. :) Regards Chris
Guest tejota Posted May 6, 2004 Report Posted May 6, 2004 I'm not sure what exactly you are trying to do, but the fact that the message makes it to your inbox sounds like the device is not recognizing the format you are sending your push message in. Also when you say multimedia push messages, is there a client registered on the device to handle this? You can find more about registering clients by searching the Smartphone SDK for Push Router. Security Polices 4108/4109 only govern what security role SI/SL messages must have in order to be processed, not all push messages. Are you sending the messages to the proper port? -tj
