To all those who upgraded to 900 band, does it really work?

i'm planning to buy a mpx200 from the US, and use it in Belgium. But i've read mixed reactions about the 900 band. Some say it works, other say it just shows you the band, but can't use it. So, what is your experience?

Hi!

It does not work! Please do not do the same mistake I did! I live in Cyprus and got the phone from the states. I flashed it with the generic firmware, and it does not work! It just makes it visible on the screen! It does not really work! 100% confirmed! Luckily for me, the places I use it the most, have 1800mhz coverage, so its not that bad!
