Hi,

I'm using an O2 XPhone with an Optus Prepaid SIM. I have activated my GPRS, but everytime I tried to load a page, it says "Page not found"

My settings are as follow:

Connects to : The Internet

Access point : prepaidyesoptus

User name :

Password :

Primary DNS : 202.139.083.152

Secondary DNS :

IP address :

These were the new settings given by the Optus representative after numerous calls to them. According to him, the access point for prepaid has changed to "prepaidyesoptus". The access point seems to work, as GPRS does connect, but the DNS doesn't seem right as I've tried numerous DNSes and it still fail to load a page in IE.

I'm wondering if anyone could help me with these settings? Or does anyone using an XPhone with an Optus Prepaid SIM manage to connect to GPRS?

Register your phone on the website www.myxphone.com then login and click on "software upgrades for your device". The Optus settings are there for download.

Do you mean you have installed the settings from the site and they dont work? Do you get a small G in the top middle of the screen? Have you applied to your Telco to use GPRS?

I do have GPRS and it seems to connect when the access point is "prepaidyesoptus" but still gives the "Page not found" error. If I apply the settings from the O2 website, I get "Unable to connect. Verify you have network coverage....", the same error I'd get when I set my apn as "internet". WAP doesn't work either.

It may be that the WAP APN for Optus is restricted and you can't access HTML and other services.

Try this setup and see if you can access WML pages.

Create proxy connection

Description Optus WAP proxy

Connects from: The Internet

Connects to: WAP network

Proxy (name:port): 202.139.083.152

Connects to: The Internet

Access point: prepaidyesoptus

User name:

Password:

Primary DNS: 0.0.0.0

In data conenctions set 'WAP conenction: Optus GPRS WAP'
