Basic interface customisation

I would like to make some basic changes to the interface of my SPV e100 - assign different programs to the icons, set a different home page etc. I would ideally like a really functional skin with beautifully designed icons - but alas, most skins seems to be 'image based/visual design' rather than improvements on interaction/functionality (eg using the home screen to show my Power Calander (from Dev One), having icons that link to programs i want them to link to).

Does anyone know of any really well designed skins or someway of customising the ones that come with the SPV e100?
