Bug: Disconnected from phone call when auto dial for emails

SYMPTOM:

I was on a phone call and when the phone went to connect to the net to retrieve e-mails on a scheduled dial, it cut off the phone call.

I know you can't use a voice call and a data call at the same time, but is there any way of setting a precedent?
