Guest roti_canai Posted March 25, 2004 Report Posted March 25, 2004 I want to get a Xphone but i m curious tat can xphone support wifi card by SDIO slot. I heard there are products such as SD wifi card but i oso heard some rumors tat those cards still dun have driver to support Xphone operating system. Is it true?
Guest XPhoneGeek Posted March 28, 2004 Report Posted March 28, 2004 Yes you are correct. SanDisk are supposed to have somthing out soon
Guest t3dluke Posted March 28, 2004 Report Posted March 28, 2004 April 21st I believe. I have a bad feeling that the E200/XPhone will fail to work with it though. Call it an educated guess.
Guest ex_zero Posted March 29, 2004 Report Posted March 29, 2004 I've emailed SanDisk about their WiFi card to be used within the Xphone, and they said to try to use the drivers for the PDA Windows mobile 2003, because they'r similar. They're not going to make any specific drivers for the Xphone, they've said.
Guest Wesleyrpg Posted March 30, 2004 Report Posted March 30, 2004 has anyone actually tried the windows mobile 2003 drivers? update: sychip ARE developing drivers for smartphone 2003
Guest roti_canai Posted April 1, 2004 Report Posted April 1, 2004 hmm... so de xphone tat support wifi card is juz a waste i guess is useless to hv a SDIO wifi slot but dun hv a driver to support it wat a joke :x
Guest XPhoneGeek Posted April 1, 2004 Report Posted April 1, 2004 Actually it's not an SDIO WiFi slot, it's an SDIO slot, there are other devices that need SDIO, some GPS systems for example. Besides having a WiFi network card is only one part of the equation, without software that understands how to use a redirector, on it's own it would be useless anyway, unless all you want to do is use a web browser..
Guest roti_canai Posted April 13, 2004 Report Posted April 13, 2004 But i do really need a wifi SDIO driver to support my Xphone Anybody got any idea tat the any wifi SDIO card tat support Xphone?
