Guest bogusbill Posted March 25, 2004 Report Posted March 25, 2004 I can't be the first to notice problems after upgrading to the latest ROM, so apologies if I've missed other posts :) The phone DID lock again, or so I thought as I couldn't put back some of the previous uncertified apps I had running. Even the unlocking tool I used previously didn't work so I had to resort to unlocking the "official" way via the orange web site...there is something about doing this officially that doesn't seem right somehow  Still after this, various apps won't install giving the message "the installation file is not intended for this device" I don't pretend to be remotely technical so any help would be appreciated. Is there anything I can do or just wait for the apps to be upgraded to the new rom version? Cheers!
Guest ferret Posted March 25, 2004 Report Posted March 25, 2004 What apps are you trying to install and did you get them running before running the update. the installation file is not intended for this device To me, this sounds like you're trying to install a pocket pc (or similar) apps on your smartphone.
Guest James Posted March 25, 2004 Report Posted March 25, 2004 the orange unlock method works fine for me... have you tried the ota method? Posted from my SmartPhone!

To me, this sounds like you're trying to install a pocket pc (or similar) apps on your smartphone. The specific app is "Scientific Calculator!.cab" which i sync across and then try running using Smart Explorer EN. True, I did not try installing this before I upgraded. I will try some other apps and see what works.
