Guest dean.howse Posted March 25, 2004 Report Posted March 25, 2004 Hi all!! I have read the other posts on the battery life of the MPx200, and some people have problems, some not. I have got problems. I will be lucky is I get 8 hours life out of a battery that has been charged for 14 hours. The phone is 3 weeks old, and the battery was charged correctly the first time. It will drop to 3 bars slowly (about 7 hours) then the next thing I know, it has powered off. This is with minimal usage (2x5min calls). This is by far the best phone I have ever owned, and I change my phone every 6 months. Motorola have sent me a special delivery pack to send it back to them. They told me there is no known problems with battery life with this phone. I hope they can fix it. Dean.
Guest squall Posted March 25, 2004 Report Posted March 25, 2004 It sounds like a faulty battery so they should replace it no problem.
Guest dean.howse Posted March 25, 2004 Report Posted March 25, 2004 I hope so, this is really getting me down, it's such a fantastic phone apart from that!!
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted March 25, 2004 Report Posted March 25, 2004 Have you tried altering the settingsPower Management and alter the Backlight timeout setting? This is the only thing to really drain the battery unless you are charging via the USB on the PC. I have found if I leave the phone plugged into the pc overnight with the pc's power off it drains the phone.
Guest dean.howse Posted March 26, 2004 Report Posted March 26, 2004 Thanks awarner, yes I have tried altering the backlight settings, anyway am I right saying the backlight will go out when the phone is closed?
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted March 26, 2004 Report Posted March 26, 2004 Yes, unless you have component failure and the magnet is not activating the switch correctly. (there is a small by powerful magnet on the screen side of the flip.)
