Hi there,

I am in a nice position were Orange is paying me for a brand new phone...

After I have had several problems with my SPV classic, they finally agreed that there was several problems with the phone and they said that I could find a new phone and that they would pay (i can spend 3700 DKR..around 500 EURO) on what ever phone I would like to have....however in the mean time I have already bought a P900. Now they say that I have to find a phone as they can not give me my money back...therefore I would like to have YOUR comments: What kind of phone would YOU suggest me..and it must NOT be a SPV model of any kind....

Please sent me your advise...

the m1000 pocket pc phone edition!

You may as well spend all the money you have available from orange!

you can pick an e100 up for 200 pounds or less, so i would look to a more expensive model

Dont know what they go for in your area, but how about... another P900?

Get it from them, flog it on eBay

At the moment they're going for around £300, which I think would be around 500-600 euros

If it's a free phone, and you don't need/want to keep it buy the one that sells for the highest price!

i think they are a bit cheaper here - but if that is the price there go for it!

my first idea was to get a new phone and then sell it away, but then I though hey why not get a phone (like a samsung model, clamshell thingy) and use that for when going to the bars friday saturday...at that time I do not want to have a a "big" phone like the SPV or the M1000 (well.. and the P900) in the pocket but just a little neat phone with only the "basic stuff" like contacts, camera, calender etc..but which would still have some nice features.....and for SURE I will spend as MUCH of the money as possible... hell orange is paying.... anyway do you guys have any suggestions?

For a non-samrtphone, the samsung E700 is good.

oohh yes the E700 is a very nice choice...only problem is that I have to select a phone which O is offering and I have not seen any E700 in the O shop so far..but maybe I should try to call and hear other O shops as well...

If it is not going to be the E700...maybe I will go for the panasonic X70...

i have a panasonic x70 for my wife do not buy this phone is crap, the menu system looks about 5 years old and off an old nokia ( not like all the pictures advertised ) and she has only had it 6 weeks and the first replacement comes tomorrow.try motorola v500 if you want a clamshell phone its much better but watch out for monopoly game you will be playing for hours.

@ john Thankx for the input...I must admit that the pictures of the X70 looks nice, however I do not think I will get that anyway...both because as you state, but also because of missing volume control on the side of the X70, it is a dual band (not triple band) and further to that I do not like the keyboard of it....however I am about to get really hooked on the Siemens SL 55....do any of you have any experience on that phone...the only down side I can see is that there is no Bluetooth..well and the display is a little small and there is "only around 4000 colours"..but I guess I can live with that...at least I survived my T68 during these days

yes i have my son has one, he is not impressed at all, too small he says and no camera. ideal for a girl or handbag camera the only good bit is the sliding front but the rest keyboard etc are all small, nice looker though. personally i like the v500 more of a mans clamshell nice screen, good camera and a good looker, the best thing to do is get to the shop or find someone that has one so you can mess around, i think its wise nt to go for the x70 its a step back for panasonic they spent so much time updating the phone they forgot about the most important bit the menu?? nothing like the photo shots or the web site show, ask anyone that has one. anything else just post more on forum

@ john thnkx again for the input...I must admit I am becoming VERY hooked on the SL 55....I have just read the manual online and tried the virtual device on the net...quite impressive for a phone that size...and in this case I would say size does matter....because this is what I am after...a little phone with more than the normal features..and I think that is what SL 55 is giving..as you say the display is not that great...and that is the only negative thing I can see for the time being...the keys..hmm I have rather small fingers (some would even say girlie fingers) so I guess I could live with that.....further to that I have tried to play with a dummy SL55 in the phone shop and it feels quite nice....so I guess if nothing better comes up before June I will for for the SL 55.....I know that there are many other VERY nice phones out there (like the V500)...the only thing that strikes me is that there is ext antenna....and they are a little bigger than the SL 55...but then again they have a much larger screen.....but as said earlier...I already got the P900 so the SL 55 (or what ever) is just for "an evening out"....but hey maybe CeBit will give us more phones the next couple of month..............AAAARRRHHHH ALL these difficult choices is making me mad :?
