Firmware Upgrade

I called samsung yesterday trying to get my IR beam problem fixed and this is what the guy told me.

"Check the Version for me" I checked: WI23

He said "OK you need a firmware upgrade" I said OK how do I do that.

"go to a Verizon store that has a PST (phone service tool), and they should do it for you" OK i say.

So i call around and i go to a store in Maumee, OH. About 20 mins from here. When i Get there the TECH is not there. OK, I ask are there any other stores that have the PST, they say YES they all do. Theres one on Monroe Street, like 2 mins from my house. So i call there and talk to the tech and he said he has no clue what im talking bout. I told him to research it and give me a call back. He woke me up this morning and said this "The software you want has to be tested by verizon, and it has not yet been finished from testing, and when it does I will give you a call back"

SOMEONE TELL IF THAT IS TRUE?????

sounds like the verizon tech was brushing you off.

that said, good luck finding a location that really has the PST, because from what I've been told, not a single Verizon store in New York City has the PST. I've been told that by two different techs. un-freaking-believable, but that's what they said.

I'm stuck with software version WHO4. I can't find out how to get W123. Any suggestions? Did your phone come with W123?
