I'm thinking about buying an SPV E100 from ebay. However the seller claims that the phone is IMEI blocked. I live in Sweden and he's from UK. Will the phone be useless for me in Sweden because it's IMEI blocked?

Thanks

It should work at present in Sweden; however, manufacturers are attempting to join their blocked IMEI database. As the IMEI is blocked the phone is either stolen or has been reported lost. The seller is, I believe, undertaking an illegal transaction.

There's usually something shady associated with a blocked IMEI. If it's not stolen, something's wrong or the seller would have looked into clearing up the problem. I'd find a better deal if I were you.

Basically if the phone is blocked it has been reported as lost or stolen or there is money owed on the phones account.

If a phone is blocked then it should be returned to the network as ownership normally defaults to them.
