ROM upgrade Smartphone 2003 on MPx200 w/updated firmware

Has anyone tried updating the to the smartphone 2003 on a phone that was updated with the generic firmware that removed all AT&T brandings unlocked camera and bands?

I don't know anybody that has upgraded to 2003 on a phone WITH the AT&T ROM (other than those who were able to do so at the developers conference).
