How do I do a hard reset on O2 Xphone

I just bought an o2 xphone not long ago.. recently i had accidentally erased my home screen setting. now i cant see my homescreen anymore. I want to do a hard reset but when i shut down my phone and press and hold the record key and power key together, the screen enters the boot loader and stuck and when it show press any , after doing so, it show the 3 colored screen and get stuck there... it never show the instruction.. i tried many keys but it just stuck there and end up i had to remove the back battery and boot it again. I just cant do any hard reset at all.. is it that this smartphone 2003 version cant do any hard reset? anyone knows how can kindly advice me? Thanks guys! :?

When it shows press any key, let go the camera and power buttons, and press the action (joystick) button.

I press the record button and the power button, and when the phone show the press any key to continue, i let go both the buttons then press and hold the action (joystick) button, i showed the 3 colored screen and stay there.. nothing happened... do u know why is the case?

Make sure you have a storage card in the phone first.

When propted to press any key, press and hold the

action button until the screen goes white then release

the action button and you will be in the bootloader menu.

Keep trying until it works. For me I don't have to hold the action button at all. When it says press any key, I just press the button and it goes into the next screen immediately.
