Guest BrandoBSB Posted March 28, 2004 Report Posted March 28, 2004 Hey, I have a MPx200 motorolla with the 2002 software on it and a 64 MB SD card (i'll get more later). Anyways, i tried installing a 'Pocket TV' .cab file a while ago and i think it may have been for pocket PC and since then i can't install anything. It shows a screen saying 'Downloaded Pocket TV.cab installation successful' and then blinks to the home screen, but i'm not even trying to install that pocketTV proggie anymore. I tried freeing up more memory on the Phone by uninstalling most of the programs and i have about 6MB free space of the phones 10 i think. Now i don't have a file manager or anything and i can't install programs with Activesync anymore. Oh yeah i tried uninstalling and reinstalling Activesync 3.7.1 and still no go? Please if anyone can help i'd really appreciate it. Thanks, Brandon
Guest Disco Stu Posted March 28, 2004 Report Posted March 28, 2004 Using ActiveSync go to IPSM Windows AppMgr Install and delete anything you find in there. This is where failed installation files are dumped. You should be able to install stuff now. :) All other folders in AppMgr are uninstall files for legitimate apps. Posted from my SmartPhone!
Guest BrandoBSB Posted March 28, 2004 Report Posted March 28, 2004 WhooHOO! You totally knew how to fix that. Thanks a lot man. I was worried i wouldn't be able to install any apps (i accidentally got rid of my file manager and system info utils) but its all gravy now, thanks a lot Disco Stu. -brandon
Guest Disco Stu Posted March 28, 2004 Report Posted March 28, 2004 Its one of those... Your mates with Pocket PC devices can load all our stuff but we can't use theirs. I also learnt to read before I clicked ! Doh ! Posted from my SmartPhone!
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted March 28, 2004 Report Posted March 28, 2004 One thing to remember though, If you decide you want to send and recieve MMS you will need to install the jmms off of the cd that came with the phone. ONLY install this to your phone and not the staorage card other wise it will mess up your entire Inbox and prevent you from sending and receiving sms as well.
Guest king_dong Posted April 1, 2004 Report Posted April 1, 2004 disco stu, you are a legend. three hours i've been tryin to sort that out! i thought it must be something like that as after every re-install failure, space got less. thanks mate
