Guest AaronSoup Posted March 29, 2004 Report Posted March 29, 2004 I'm talking about the little hole with the spike... located to the left of the camera... loads of phones i've owned have had them... never found a function for it... At first i assumed it was something to do with internal aerials... then i remembered that my old nokia faceoff (5110 or something like that... the original zexy mobile) had the same thing and that had a huge fuckoff aerial... so what exactly is the point in it??? and does anyone wanna send me one of those little rubber covers for it, i lost mine and it looks bugly... peace... Aaron
Guest nickcornaglia Posted March 29, 2004 Report Posted March 29, 2004 It's for an external antenna connection when connecting to a car handsfree kit. MY 2000th POST!!!!!
Guest AaronSoup Posted March 29, 2004 Report Posted March 29, 2004 mmh.... I actually remember that now... on older car kits, back in the day when phones didn't have good enough signal my 5110 clipped into car kit and i broke it by pulling it out the wrong way (the aerial bit clipped into this thing, i assumed it was to stop it falling out of the handsfree..) in that case i'm gonna dig out my 5110 car kit and mod it to give my SPV super indoor antenna... (I have about 300 5110's/carkit/handsfree systems - got them free off my girlfriend at the time who worked for social services)... If it works well I'll start selling aerial boosters...could always call them battery boosters as well... if the phone has full signal while indoors it would speed up charging and reduce battery wear... Anyone have any idea's if external antenna need power or if the only purpose of the cigarette lighter plugin is to charge the phone???
Guest teddyen66 Posted March 29, 2004 Report Posted March 29, 2004 well if you get it working feel free to send me a 5110 carkit ;-) Posted from my SmartPhone!
