Bit slower after update. Ideas for speeding up handset

wondering if anyone has found the handset to be a little slower post update? thats the only prob ive had with it really.......

has anyone tried deleting the progs that start up in the startup folder or something like that? which ones are safe to delete?

What about going to Custom Cabbage and getting the SpeedBoost & SpeedMenu tweaks ?
