how do I make a .cab to install my homescreen????

please help me... I took a homesreen that alteres all backgrounds and colors and I made my own animations. but now I want to put them in to a .cab file (or whatever else is possible) so I can install it. I will not make the skin public as the code is not mine. I just changed colors and graphics.

You'll need to install the Smartphone SDK (or possibly just get a copy of CabwizSP.exe, which is one of the SDK's components - not sure if this will work as a stand-alone program tho) then follow the instructions here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default....ploy_demyst.asp

Wouldn't it be helpful if somebody could post the necessary set up files for making a cab (you know, with all the extra screens and all)??

yeah, you're right. us with poor 56K could not download 100+ megs without straining our comps...

I do have a braod band connection... and I allready have the SDK.... but didn't know I had to do it with that program... never opened it before.

I found a different way of doing it.

I just installed the orriginal... and then I replaced all the images witht he ones I made on the phone, and replaced the codes with mine.

it works fine now. just need to make the homescreen work porperly.... was to lazy to finish it. so I'm gonna go work on that.

btw: I tried it the SDK way... but I don't know how to program, so it was a lot of mumbo-jumbo for me

Must admit, using CabWizSP is a right pain but it does mean that you can install extra stuff - like extra images in the case of a homescreen - which you won't be able to do with the method you're using. If that's good enough for what you need then fair play tho, good thinking :)

Whit this program you can change almost everything :) Without knowing anything about programming. If you also use the Theme generator you can make the homescreen background and a colour theme

Thank you. Of cours I would like to add extra images, but I'm not a programer so I can't make things from scratch.

However I am able to change codes and things like that. but it's working fine so you don't hear me complaining
